Cannot send message from simulator to zendesk chat dashboard

I'm trying to send a message from the iOS simulator to the Zendesk chat dashboard but nothing is appearing. I've initialized ZendeskChat with my account key and my app id. The chat UI shows up and it appears that it is sent, but nothing in the browser.
